About Marissa Gandelman, LMT
Marissa is a licensed massage therapist and graduate of Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and specializes in relaxation techniques as well as the treatment of chronic and acute muscle pain caused by stress, overuse and injury. She uses a combination of massage modalities tailored to each client's needs, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, myofascial release, and meuromuscular therapy.
Marissa graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism. Upon graduation, she began a career as an editor and eventually moved on to speechwriting. She sought massage therapy to ease the stress of her hectic lifestyle and to maintain a sense of well-being. She was inspired by how well massage therapy improved her life and decided to help others do the same through the healing power of touch.
Marissa recently returned from Cusco, Peru, where she lived for the past year and had a private practice. She is now based in New Haven, CT, and makes monthly visits to Washington, D.C. to see clients.
